Well, it’s that time of the year again – when the clocks go back and conversation for the following week revolves around everyone’s disbelief at how dark it is at 4pm.

And whilst we’re sad to officially say goodbye to Summer, we’re secretly quite looking forward to getting cosy by the fire and enjoying some hearty dishes by candlelight from our Autumn/Winter menu.

Abigail’s Party is Coming to The Foresters

We are thrilled to announce that we will be hosting ‘Abigail’s Party’ at The Foresters for the very first time on Saturday 21st November. ‘Abigail’s Party’ is the creation of Abi Hall, Surrey-based mum, stylist and events organiser.

Every event organised by the lovely people at ‘Abigail’s Party’ proves to be hugely popular and we are have no doubt that this one will carry on that trend. Featuring DJ Martin White, Point Blank FM and DJ James Bell, it’s going to be one heck of a shin-dig, so get your tickets quick.

Beer of the Month – Common Pale Ale, Wimbledon Brewery

Easy drinking session ale with a clean finish and a good mouth feel, Maris Otter Malt and Target, Fuggles and Goldings Hops.

Wine of the Month – Esprit du Lussac St Emillion, Bordeaux, 2012.

A blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot. This is a rich, full bodied wine showing great concentration of flavour. With juicy black fruit on the nose and palate backed up by a smoky sandalwood character.

Father and Son Celebrate 30 Years Serving the Locals

The Foresters’ landlord and his Dad have recently celebrated a combined 30 years as publications serving the Hampton Wick and Teddington areas.

Thomas Furber, landlord of Hampton Wick pub-restaurant, The Foresters, recently celebrated 10th Anniversary alongside proud Dad and former landlord of The Lion, Bobby Furber.

Together, father and son share a total of 30 years serving punters in both Teddington and Hampton Wick. Furber was proprietor of The Lion in Wick Road from 1979 – 1997 before he called time and moved to Spain to retire.

Son, Thomas learned the tricks of the trade under the supervision of his Dad before flying the nest to work as a Combat Chef in the army. He later worked in various bars and pubs in the West End and Mayfair before he eventually had his name put above the door of The Foresters in 2005.

Pub’s are also in the blood for sister, Jayne Philpot who is Restaurant Manager for The Foresters, which has won the Time & Leisure Food & Drink Award for ‘Best Pub’ three years in a row.

Delighted Dad, Bobby, who travelled from Spain especially, commented on this landmark occasion: “I know from experience the pressure that pub landlords are under; with pubs closing across the UK every single day, The Foresters 10 Year Anniversary is a true achievement and I’m thrilled to be a part of the celebration. Thomas has done us proud”.     

The celebration was marked with a 10th Anniversary party at the pub which played host to burlesque dancers, local musicians and a casino. Festivities also spilled over into The Hampton Wick Festival; a much anticipated annual event in the local calendar which The Foresters has played a large role in over the years.

The menu represents a variety of seasonal dishes with locally sourced ingredients and lots of tasty new things to try like this Tandoori Roasted Chicken Salad in a poppadom with curried mayonnaise and chutneys, all served with your choice of basmati rice or pomme frites.

The Foresters is Turning 10!

The Hampton Wick Festival is always a highlight of the year for us. And this year, it’s especially special as this year, we’ll be celebrating 10 years at The Foresters with – what else? – a Street Party.

As we look back on almost a decade within the community, we feel very grateful for all the support we’ve received over the years and we want our celebrations to echo our gratitude.

It promises to be a really wonderful day packed full of family friendly fun and we’d love to see you there.

We’re an eclectic bunch here at The Foresters and we like to think our selection of live music events prove it.

Coming up next is Classics Night (this Saturday 27th June from 8pm) where DJ Mikee takes to the decks to plays classic tunes from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s.

Our Classics Nights are a regular thing in The Foresters events calendar (usually held on the last Saturday of the month) so if you can’t make it this time round, the next dates to look out for are as follows:

We also frequently invite our favourite music-loving sisters to The Foresters for their ever-popular Oh Oh Sevens Nights – where they invite the crowd to bring a small selection of their favourite seven inch records for some DIY DJ fun.

Live music and entertainment events at The Foresters are normally held in the opposite end of the pub to the restaurant which remains open, creating a great atmosphere throughout the pub and for any guests dining, drinking, in the mood for a dance… or all of the above!

Oh Oh Seven is the DIY DJ Night where you get a chance to spin your favourite records.
The concept is simple: come along early with your special selection of 5-7 7″ records and
put your name on the board. Bag a slot and you’ll get to play your tunes to a pub full of
music enthusiasts.

It’s our absolute pleasure to announce that our all new website is now live.

Reflecting our character as a great British pub

We decided quite a while back that we wanted to refresh The Foresters website to reflect the wonderful character of our traditional British pub whilst celebrating the fine food and drink on offer from our seasonal and locally-sourced menus.

We also wanted to update the design to create a more modern website that not only looks good but that would be easy for our customers to use – whether you’re looking to book a table with us for dinner, find out where we are to pop in for a drink or would like to enquire about hiring the pub for a party – we hope you’ll find all the information right where you’d expect it to be.
